This progress report by the BC Forest Safety Council is for the people in the forest industry and others interested in safety in British Columbia's working woods.

Titled Taking safety to the next level, the report lets you:

• Review 2008 accomplishments by employers and workers using resources developed for them by the Council.
• Look at our goals for more progress in 2009.
• See background on the Council and its industry-driven safety initiatives.

All this follows the pattern of recent reports, except for one thing.  This year we wil no longer print and send out hard-copies of the progress report.  Instead, it appears on the website where you can choose to download all or part of the report.  This approach is more cost-effective and lets us give you more information than could be carried in print.

But regardless of the format, the basic idea is unchanged. The Council wants to report on how the industry is working to reduce the risk of earning a living in forestry - and standing firm on the commitment to the belief that Unsafe is Unacceptable.
